For approximately the last decade, the emergence of DATA technology and more specifically in everything related to Big Data and Cloud Computing, has represented a real revolution both in the field of personal and user use and in the professional and business fields.

But what is Cloud Computing really?

In general terms and without going into technicalities, we could say that the Cloud Computing or Cloud Computing, is a technology that allows data processing and the storage of files and information in what is known as the cloud (servers hosted on the Internet). And all this, without us having to worry about possessing the necessary storage media to store such data.

And explained in an even simpler way, let's say that it works just like your email; with the difference that Cloud Computing is supposed to be vastly larger amounts of information of which any user has in their email inbox and above all, on a large scale within the Internet.

How does Cloud Computing work?

Thanks to “the cloud”, companies of all sizes are able to provide their services and share their information with and for everyone. That is why it is said that the cloud is democracy.

But,What is Cloud Computing used for in the daily life of any organization?

It's simple, Cloud Computing allows companies and organizations to rent storage and processing space for the data and information they use daily to carry out their activities instead of having to buy them or having to invest in super powerful equipment capable of emulating these applications already “installed” and available in the cloud itself.

In this way, everything is greatly simplified at the structural level, in terms of resources and fixed costs and in terms of business infrastructure, since all that is required is an Internet connection. In addition, companies, with this reduction in costs and all the benefits of the cloud, can develop more innovative and more transformative projects at a lower cost.

Even companies and organizations, in addition to the cloud for public use, will be able to dispose of your own privately and so that its entire structure is housed in the location of the organization or in the supplier's data center, which provides a highest level of security and also of control.

Advantages of cloud computing

The reasons why most organizations choose to use the cloud and Cloud Computing are many and very diverse, but here you can find the main:

  1. Its low cost compared to the alternative of investing in a large infrastructure and a large number of licenses, applications, etc.
  2. Data security and compliance with protection, access and data recovery.
  3. If you have an Internet connection, you have everything wherever and whenever you want.
  4. Compatibility and compatibility. That is, total connection of your entire business structure, its data and its applications, with anyone, wherever they are and in real time.
  5. Although it may not seem like it, this way of operating and working, has a much lower energy cost than that of traditional forms of digital work.

And so far this little introduction to Cloud Computing. But if after this appetizer, you have been left hungry for more, we highly recommend that you take a look at the conference”Cloud Computing, Survival Manual”, where, hand in hand with Jacinto Arias, Professor and Academic Coordinator at MBIT School, you will find the definitive guide about everything you need to know about this incredible business tool.
